Ferrari 599 GTO

Unveiled in 2010, the Ferrari 599 GTO represents a milestone in Maranello’s front-engined V12 lineage. Derived from the 599 GTB Fiorano but infused with technology from the track-only 599XX, it was the fastest road-legal Ferrari of its time. Powered by a 670-hp naturally aspirated V12 and featuring extensive weight reduction and advanced aerodynamics, the 599 GTO remains one of the most desirable modern Ferraris among collectors.

A Heritage of Prestige

The GTO badge – “Gran Turismo Omologata” – carries unparalleled significance in Ferrari’s history. After the mythical 250 GTO of the 1960s and the groundbreaking 288 GTO of the 1980s, the 599 GTO became the third Ferrari to proudly wear the name. More than just an evolution of the 599 GTB Fiorano, it was conceived as a bridge between the racetrack and the road, directly inspired by the radical 599XX program.

Design and Exterior

The 599 GTO commands immediate presence, combining elegance with purposeful aggression. This example from Rossocorsa is finished in Matte Grigio Silverstone, a color that highlights the muscular sculpting of the bodywork. Carbon fiber accents – including wheel caps, side sills, and headlight housings – emphasize its technical character, while aluminum brake calipers add a refined contrast. Every exterior detail speaks to exclusivity and performance.

Interior and Details

The cabin reflects Ferrari’s dual philosophy of racing focus and artisan craftsmanship. Trimmed in Rosso Cordura, it features Large Carbon Racing seats, bespoke contrast stitching, and a white tachometer background. Black extracampionario carpets add contrast, while the minimalist dashboard underscores its track-inspired purpose. Despite its racing DNA, this GTO offers selected comfort features: Bose Hi-Fi system, satellite navigation, iPod integration, and rear parking sensors.

Engine and Performance

At its heart lies a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12, producing 670 hp at 8,250 rpm and 620 Nm at 6,500 rpm, with torque delivered consistently up to the 8,400 rpm redline. With a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.23 kg/hp, the 599 GTO accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds and achieves a top speed of 335 km/h. Even today, its figures stand at the very top of the supercar hierarchy.

Chassis and Driving Dynamics

The 599 GTO is not just about raw power: its aluminum chassis, combined with extensive use of composites, reduces curb weight to 1,605 kg. Aerodynamic refinement, advanced suspension tuning, and carbon-ceramic brakes provide stability and precision even under extreme conditions. The 6-speed F1 sequential gearbox ensures lightning-fast shifts, delivering an authentic race-car feel on public roads.

Exclusivity and Collectability

Built in limited numbers, the Ferrari 599 GTO has been a collectible from day one. The Rossocorsa example, showing just 21,481 km, offers a rare opportunity to acquire a model with an exceptional configuration and impeccable pedigree. Its blend of rarity, performance, and historical significance makes it both a sound investment and a deeply emotional acquisition.
